a Letter from Harry Sterling
Hello,
Im writing to announce that I will retire this November from HP. I wanted
to take this opportunity to thank the HP 3000 community for 12 great years. Your
loyalty and evangelism for the platform have been extremely impactful and appreciated.
Although Im sad to say goodbye to the many HP 3000 customers, partners and
employees Ive been privileged to work with, I am also excited to begin a new phase
in my life.
It is important to convey that my departure will not impact the future of the HP 3000
platform. HP will continue to provide high-performing, reliable, low-maintenance
platforms ideal for supporting e-services and mission-critical Internet applications.
There will be no effect on the Commercial Systems Division other than a new General
Manager at the helm. Please be confident that business will continue as usual.
I also would like to take this time to announce we have selected Winston Prather to
move into my position as General Manager. Winston's new role is effective
immediately. I will be available for the next few months to ensure a smooth
transition. Winston has a long history with CSY and we are both excited and
confident in his abilities to lead the HP 3000 into the next millennium.
Regards,
Harry Sterling
General Manager, Commercial Systems Division
