Since the HP e3000 ended sales for systems, add-on components,
and upgrade kits in 2004, customers who want to upgrade their
existing e3000 systems have begun asking HP for guidelines on
how they can ensure that their upgraded systems are meeting
HP’s MPE/iX Right To Use (RTU) license and e3000 hardware
upgrade requirements.
As a result of these requests, a Hardware and Software Policy
Statement has been generated to clarify possible confusion in
the marketplace about upgrades. We have also created a
stand-alone MPE/iX RTU license product (AD377A) that is not
coupled with any secondary hardware system sales. With these
two deliverables, HP hopes to make the HP e3000 hardware
upgrade process in the secondary market clearer and more manageable.
If you are planning to perform any upgrades to your existing e3000
systems, please visit the HP e3000 website for detailed information:

As always, if you have any additional questions or if your upgrade
scenario is not covered by the communications above, please submit
your question by clicking the “Contact HP with e3000 Questions” on the
www.hp.com/go/e3000 home page.
